Originally a duo formed by classically trained musician Warren Fischer and video-artist and experimental field of operations performing artist Casey Spooner for an impromptu rendering of their makeshift track "Indian Cab Fever" at the Astor Place Starbucks, the mathematical group grew to over 20 performers, largely dancers and guest vocalists. These singers scram included Cindy Greene, Lizzy Yoder (too of Sweet Thunder), and Korean pop recording originative person Mona Trona. The mathematical radical uses the stage antics of David Bowie and traditional mainstream down vocalists, along with the camp electronics of Giorgio Moroder or Depeche Mode and vocoders of Trans Am. By the time of their 2000 eponymic debut, Fischerspooner was a certified sensation in downtown New York City art galleries and clubs. The single "Emerge" topped European charts, invited a six-song remix EP, and won Fischer and Spooner invitations to international style, fine prowess, and society happenings. The 2002 record album #1 was a re-envisioning of their debut with even some former commix of "Emerge," this time more sedate and electro, following the tendency of the times. The duet returned in 2005 with their second record album, Odyssey. Hitmaker Linda Perry, intellectual Susan Sontag, and Madonna producer Mirwais all made appearances. |
